The British CANNONS group (sports clubs and fitness centres) is in exclusive talks to buy up its competitor HOLMES PLACE (66 sports clubs; turnover of 73 million British pounds in the first quarter of 2002) for 350 million sterling, which works out at 200 pence per share.
