05/09/2002 (Agence Europe) - the Union for SMES of the Popular European Party has launched a campaigning for reducing taxes to a minimum of 40% of GDP. With Christian Democrat and Conservative parties dominating the European Parliament and EU Council, the organisation of small and medium-sized enterprises of the EPP, declares in a press release that, "during the spring economic summit in March 2003", the EU institutions led by the EPP would draw up a work plan for economic reform and launch such a process. The organisation, which is based in Brussels, believes that the level of taxes is outrageously high in certain Member States, particularly Germany and is one of the main causes of the high level of unemployment. The organisation said that they were getting closer to an USA crisis but we will nee three year to catch the USA up in the case of economic upturn.
