The Swiss-Swedish ABB group has sold off STRUCTURED FINANCE, its "Company Finance" division to GE COMMERCIAL FINANCE, a GENERAL ELECTRIC subsidiary, for USD 2.3 bn. This deal will allow ABB reduce its debt, which stood at USD 5.2 bn at the end of June 2002. The division that has been sold includes its global infrastructure funding services, equipment leasing and project funding services. It employs 500 people in 11 countries.
