"Amis de la Pêche" countries confirm their opposition to dismantling public aid and to large reduction of fishing capacity

Brussels, 23/07/2002 (Agence Europe) - The six Member States the most strongly opposed to the project of reform of Common Fisheries Policy (CFP), namely Spain, France, Italy, Greece, Ireland and Portugal, met in Paris last week to coordinate their strategy with a view to negotiations, which look as though they will be difficult.
