Non-returned banknotes to have no impact on government deficits

Brussels, 23/07/2002 (Agence Europe) - Eurostat decided on Monday on how to deal with non-returned banknotes and coins (following the changeover to the euro) in national accounting systems. Eurostat decided that the treatment of gains from non-returned national banknotes and coins would have no impact on government deficits.
