Ms de Palacio angry with behaviour of three Member States which have authorised US controls in their ports

Brussels, 11/07/2002 (Agence Europe) - Commissioner Loyola de Palacio met Mr Larsen, US Secretary for Economic Affairs to discuss US anti-terrorist measures in European ports, which consist of checking lorry container goods en route to the US and sending US customs officials into European ports. "The Commission will not authorise these unilateral measures in the name of the war on terrorism", Ms de Palacio explained on Tuesday morning in front of the EP Transport Committee.
