Experts say at hearing that Enron and Worldcom cases prove need for European co-ordination and monitoring mechanism

Brussels, 11/07/2002 (Agence Europe) - At the European Parliament's Economic Committee on Wednesday, experts pointed out that although Europe was not the USA, the Enron and Worldcom scandals demonstrate the need for stricter surveillance rules. The hearing took place in preparation of the Dutch Socialist Ieke van den Burg's initiative report.
