ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) pharmaceuticals

The French group SONOFI/SYNTHELABO has announced that it sold its 42% take in the plant biology laboratories YVES ROCHER (cosmetics: 1.82 bn turnover in 2000) end-December 2001 for 316 million euro. The shares were mainly sold to the Rocher family which took 39% of the capital and thus sees its stake increase to 77%. The remaining 3% were sold to SOCIETE GENERALE.
