18/01/2002 (Agence Europe) - British Liberal-Democrat Emma Nicholson of Winterbourne has been appointed by the World Health Organisation (WHO) as "Envoy for Health, Peace and Development in the Eastern Mediterranean". In WHO terms, this region also comprises Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran and Arabian Peninsula and North Africa.
