ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) pharmaceuticals

NOVARTIS SANTE ANIMALE (Swiss group NOVARTIS: CHF 1.08 bn turnover in 2000, with 2000 employees in 40 countries) has taken over GRAND LABORATOIRES and IMMTECH BIOLOGICS, two American companies manufacturing vaccines for cattle and pigs, for an unspecified amount. These two companies together had a turnover of $33 million in 2001 and employ some 230 staff.
