Brussels, 11/01/2002 (Agence Europe) - As expected, the EU and Lebanon initialled an Association Agreement in Brussels on Thursday as another step in the formation of a huge Euro-Mediterranean Free Trade Zone (planned for 2010). The initialling came at the same time as the Spanish Presidency of the Council was highlighting the importance of Europe's relations with the Middle East.
