Mannesmannröhren can buy up DMV

Brussels, 30/11/2001 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has given the green light to the acquisition of DMV Stainless, a Dutch non-welded stainless tube producer by German group Mannesmannröhren-Weerke AG (MRW). DMV used to be a joint-stock company run by MRW and the Italian company Dalmine and Vallourec. It brought together the activities of these companies in the production and sale of non-welded strong-alloyed stainless tubes. In 1997, Vallourec was bought out by MRW, subsequently placing DMV under the joint control of MRW and Dalmine. The Commission has just decided that the take over of DMV by MRW will have no impact on the current position of DMV on the market and has therefore authorised the transaction.
