Energy ratings of buildings the focus of Tuesday's Council - Belgian Presidency "passes on" the issue of gas and electricity market liberalisation to Spanish Presidency

Brussels, 30/11/2001 (Agence Europe) - The EU Council of Energy Ministers, to open on Tuesday morning, will devote a large part of its work to the Commission proposal relating to energy efficiency in buildings. The Belgian Presidency considers the text as "its" priority, in so far as it is a key response to the requirements of the Kyoto Protocol.
