Commission puts forward mandate for negotiating Trade and Co-operation Agreement

Brussels, 20/11/2001 (Agence Europe) - As previously announced (EUROPE 17 November page 5), the European Commission has approved a proposal for negotiating a Trade and Co-operation Agreement with Iran. A Commission press release stressed that following the events of 11 September, Iran could play an important role in the global fight against terrorism and establishing regional stability.
