ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) brewing

The Belgian group INTERBREW, the world's second largest beer producer, has made a public offer of purchase for all of the capital of the Slovenian brewery PIVOVARNA UNION, which holds about 40% of the national market. The Belgian group, which already owns 24.45% of the brewery shares, has made an offer for the remainder at the price of 75,000 Slovenian tolar per share. Given the shares still in circulation, INTERBREW may disburse nearly EUR 111.6 million.
