LONDON ELECTRICITY, British subsidiary of French EDF, has acquired the distribution network of the American group TXU as well as the 50% share that it does not yet hold in the 24SEVEN company, their joint venture. LONDON ELECTRICITY will pay £560 million in cash for the acquisition and will also take on a debt of £750 million. To this must be added a power plant located near Nottingham, also bought from LTU for the sum of £366 million.
