Franz Fischler makes pretty optimistic assessment of beef market

Brussels, 20/11/2001 (Agence Europe) - At their Council meeting in Brussels on Tuesday, the EU Agriculture Ministers were addressed by Commissioner Franz Fischler on the situation in the beef market, where the latest developments suggest that the situation is gradually returning to normal, in particular thanks to various support measures that have been implemented (aid and a special purchasing system for destroying or storing cattle more than 30 months old).
