Reasoned opinion sent to belgium and Finland on no-claims bonuses for car insurance

Brussels, 25/10/2001 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has sent Belgium and Finland a reasoned opinion for failing to comply with the third non-life insurance directive. It criticises them for imposing a compulsory no-claims bonus scheme for third-party car insurance that contravenes the freedom to set tariffs as outlined in the directive.
