25/10/2001 (Agence Europe) - With the adoption of the report by Esko Seppänen (GUE/NGL, Finland), the European Parliament approved the European Commission's proposal to grant a Community budget guarantee to the European Investment Bank (EIB) for special loans for the funding of environmental projects in the Russian part of the Baltic Sea basin. The allocation is for EUR 100 million mainly intended to finance waste water treatment projects in Saint-Petersburg and Kaliningrad. The EP agrees...
