Commission makes a negative assessment of implementation by Member States of legislation on control of fishing activities

Brussels, 28/09/2001 (Agence Europe) - On Friday, the European Commission adopted a report that is not all that enthusiastic regarding the way Member States implement Community measures applicable under the Common Fisheries Policy (CFP). The Commission observes that the existing measures regarding the registration of catches, that were set back in the eighties, were still to being fully implemented in certain countries (France, Spain, Portugal, Finland, Ireland and Sweden).
