United Kingdom wants to put an end to land set-aside and milk quotas

Brussels, 28/09/2001 (Agence Europe) - British Agriculture Minister Margaret Beckett asked the European Commission on Wednesday to propose, for the mid-way revision of the common agricultural policy (PAC), putting an end to land set-aside (fixed at 10% for the 2000/2006 period with compensation of 63 euro per tonne) and to abolish milk quotas.
