Following the catastrophe of Toulouse, Wurtz and Ainardi call on Commission to review "Seveso" directive

Brussels, 28/09/2001 (Agence Europe) - In a letter addressed to the President of the European Commission, Romano Prodi, French Communists Sylviane Ainardi and Francis Wurtz note that the explosion at the AZF plant (classified "Seveso") in Toulouse on 21 September had caused immense human and material damage: over 30 dead, over 2,400 injured, 20,000 private and social housing damaged, teaching establishments, hospitals and shops out of service.
