Mr Lamassoure not in favour of fixing time-limit to Turkey's status of candidate country

Brussels, 11/09/2001 (Agence Europe) - "I am not in favour of it. All candidate countries should be treated the same. I do not support what could be interpreted as an ultimatum...Imposing a date limit of whatever kind is contrary to the spirit of negotiations."
