The UK's spirits company ALLIED DOMECQ has made a bid of EUR 279.2 million for Spain's leading wine producer BODEGAS Y BEBIDAS (annual turnover of 34.7 billion pesetas). The acquisition has already been "irrevocably" accepted by shareholders holding 52.5% of the capital. The bid values the Spanish wine producers' shares at EUR 15.7.
