Romano Prodi may announce EU contribution to UN international Fund against AIDS at Genoa Summit

Brussels, 16/07/2001 (Agence Europe) - The G8 Summit in Genoa will begin next Friday with a meeting of the representatives of the world's seven most industrialised countries (plus Russia). Other participants will be the Council Presidency, the European Commission, the UN Secretary General and the presidents of several African countries (see EUROPE of 6 July, p.11). On this occasion, the themes of poverty, the fight against hunger and illiteracy and access to medicines will be tackled. EUROPE...
