Parliament calls for simplified system for aids to small farmers to be accessible to one farmer in three

Brussels, 15/06/2001 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday in Strasbourg, the European Parliament adopted the report by Friedrich-Wilhelm Graefe zu Baringdorf (Greens, German) in which he calls for the simplified system of aid payments to small farmers who earn small revenues to cover 33% of farmers, against 23% according to the European Commission proposal (see details in EUROPE of 31 May, p.13).
