ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) pharmaceuticals

The Croatian pharmaceutical products company PLIVA will acquire its German counterpart AWD.PHARMA (turnover of EUR 115.8 million in 2000) from ASTRA MEDICA for EUR 50 million. This is one of the largest acquisitions undertaken by a eastern European company in western Europe.
