Brussels, 15/06/2001 (Agence Europe) - As expected, GE and Honeywell have handed in a final offer to Commissioner Mario Monti containing the last concessions they are prepared to offer to succeed in the merger plan (see yesterday's EUROPE, p.9). They are, however, pessimistic as to the chances of seeing the European authorities accept them, recognizing that " these proposals fall short of the demands of the European Commission".
