Brussels, 07/06/2001 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission authorised the creation of a joint venture between the Japanese companies NEC Corp and Toshiba Corp, which will respectively hold 60% and 40% of the capital while exercising joint control. This company will mainly sell satellites and parts in the framework of the Japanese institutional programme concerning space. The Commission noted that these activities will be limited in Europe and thus put forward no objection to its creation.
