ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) metals

French IMS - INTERNATIONAL METAL SERVICES (turnover EUR 625 million in 2000 with 1,543 employed) has acquired via its British subsidiary IMS UK the company CROMDANE STEEL AND ENGINEERING LIMITED (annual turnover £6 million), specialised in the distribution and processing of special steels intended for the oil prospecting market. In France, the group has acquired the company TECHNIPLAQUES (non-abrasive products; turnover FF 22 million in 2000).
