Brussels, 09/05/2001 (Agence Europe) - The Standing Veterinary Committee (SVC) of the European Union has provided its go-ahead, Tuesday evening, to the reopening of beef and pork markets, closed due to the foot-and-mouth disease, except for Great Britain. The use of assembly centres and the holding of markets are now possible for these two species, but restrictions concerning sheep and goats remain in force.
