ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) textiles

The Belgian textile group DOMO (turnover EUR 665 million in 2000) has concluded an agreement with the company BASELL, a joint venture created in 2000 between BASF and SHELL with a view to acquiring 100% of the capital of BASELL POLYPROPYLENE BV, which holds the polypropylene production units in Rozenburg (Netherlands). The agreement is for a production capacity of 180,000 tonnes annually. The amount of the transaction was not disclosed.
