ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) electronics

The Taiwanese group of UMC microprocessors is to merge its printed circuit board and chip packaging units with two local rivals, UNICAP ELECTRONICS INDUSTRIAL and BESMULT INDUSTRY, in order to consolidate its position. It thus becomes the first printed circuit board producer in Taiwan with an annual turnover of around Taiwan $20 billion (on the basis of 2000 receipts by both parties).
