Brussels, 28/03/2001 (Agence Europe) - After having decided on the extension, until 19 April, of the precautionary health measures imposed on the United Kingdom and Ireland to fight against the spread of foot and mouth disease in the European Union (see yesterday's EUROPE, p.9), the EU Standing Veterinary Committee studied the situation in the Netherlands and France and approved the measures put forward by the European Commission, namely:
