Joint Council ratifies "services" chapter of free trade agreement, and begins political dialogue on issue of Chiapas

Brussels, 27/02/2001 (Agence Europe) - As expected, on Tuesday the EU/Mexico Joint Council ratified the comprehensive partnership and trade liberalisation agreement signed in November 1999. The services, investment and intellectual property chapter will take effect on 1 March (see EUROPE of 23 February, p.8, for details).
