EP calls for ratification of human rights conventions

Strasbourg, 16/02/2001 (Agence Europe) - By adopting a resolution on Thursday on human rights in the Democratic Republic of Laos, the EP welcomed the signing by this country of two UN conventions on human rights. The country is coordinating relations between the EU and ASEAN until 2002 (which provides it with special responsibility, Margie Sudre pointed out during the debate).
