Commission conditionally authorises EDF to acquire stake in German electricity company EnBW

Brussels, 07/02/2001 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has authorised, subject to a series of commitments, the acquisition of joint control of the German electricity company Energie Baden-Würtemberg AG (EnBW) by Electricité de France (EDF) and Zweckverband Oberschwäbische Elektrizitätswerke (OEW), an association of nine south-west German districts. The Commission nonetheless imposed conditions as the operation as initially notified would have strengthened EDF's dominant position...
