EP calls for legislative framework for electronic publishing

Brussels, 02/02/2001 (Agence Europe) - With the adoption by an overwhelming majority of the O'Toole Report on "new frontiers in book production: electronic publishing and printing on demand" (see EUROPE of 27 January, p.14), the European Parliament entrusts the European Commission with proposing a legislative framework for electronic publishing (469 vote in favour, 21 against and 9 abstentions). It calls on Member States to study the application of the specific VAT regime for publications...
