GENERAL NEWS / (eu) eu/denmark

02/02/2001 (Agence Europe) - A referendum on the self-determination of the Faeroe Isles towards Denmark has been convened for 26 May this year. The 46,000 inhabitants of these 18 islands may then choose whether they wish to assume, by 2012 at the latest, full responsibility for their local affairs.
