Union concerned at clashes between Hema and Lendu

Brussels, 02/02/2001 (Agence Europe) - On 1 February, the Swedish Presidency adopted the following declaration on behalf of the EU:

"The EU is deeply concerned about the continued news of violent clashes between the Hema and Lendu groups, and massacres in the Bunia region of north-eastern DRC's Oriental Province.
