ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) industrial gas

The Franco-German group AVENTIS has sold to investment funds held by ALLIANZ and GOLDMAN SACHS all its 66.6% stake in the German producer of industrial gas MESSER GRIESHEM (1.7 bn euro turnover in 1999). The exact amount of the transaction has not been made public, but is estimated at between 1.5 and 1.6 bn euro.
