04/01/2001 (Agence Europe) - Finland has become the 30th member of the European Organisation for the Safety of Air Navigation (Eurocontrol). Its application for membership, submitted in October 1998, was approved in February 1999. The instrument of accession was deposited in November 2000. Finland has been cooperating with Eurocontrol for some time through air traffic management agreements and the air traffic control harmonisation programme.
