Brussels, 04/01/2001 (Agence Europe) - The President of the European Parliament, Nicole Fontaine, will take part next week in the celebrations to mark the 7th anniversary of UEOMA (West African Economic and Monetary Union) in Burkina Faso.
Ms Fontaine will meet the President of the UEOMA Commission on 9 January in Ouagadougou and will participate in a meeting with the different bodies of the Economic and Monetary Union (the Court of Justice, Court of Auditors, Interparliamentary Committee, etc.). In the afternoon she will be meeting the Prime Minister, the President of the Parliament and the Foreign Affairs Minister and will also be seeing the President of Burkina Faso.
On 10 January, the celebration ceremonies for the UEOMA's 7th anniversary will open with a speech by the President of the Commission, Moussa Touré, followed by a speech by Nicole Fontaine. In the afternoon, Ms Fontaine will visit the World Bank and the IMF's delegations in Ouagadougou, and also the Burkina Faso Association of Elected Women.
