28/12/2000 (Agence Europe) - The Financial Times of 27 December states that Lord Falconer, Minister in charge of supervising the implementation of EU directives in the United Kingdom, held seminars over recent months for British officials whom he urged not to be over zealous in transposition of Community legislation. He told them it is preferable to risk being taken before the Court of Justice rather than to hamper industry with excessively unwieldy European regulations.
