In accordance with its strategy of focusing on the European market, the leading British insurance group CGNU has sold two of its Canadian subsidiaries for a total of GBP 133 million. CGNU sold COMMERCIAL UNION LIFE HOLDINGS CANADA to the Canadian financial services firm MANULIFE FINANCIAL for GBP 62 million and NORWICH UNION HOLDINGS to the American AIG -AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL GROUP- for 71 million.
