The Swiss agri-foods group NESTLE is holding talks with the American firm GENERAL MILLS for the acquisition of the 50% it does not yet own in their joint subsidiary ICE CREAM PARTNERS USA (turnover of USD 600 million in 1998), which manufactures and sells Häagen-Dazs ice cream in the United States. The transaction could total USD 650 million.
