Paris, 28/12/2000 (Agence Europe) - The spokesman for the French Foreign Ministry told the press on Tuesday that, as the agreement of Member States is now acquired, the Treaty of Nice "will be signed in Nice as soon as possible". François Rivasseau, spokesman for the Quai d'Orsay, said in fact that the text of the treaty was "politically approved", that there are no problems of translation and that "it is in the hands of lawyer linguists".
