Mr Kostunica speaks to the committee of ministers

Strasbourg, 09/11/2000 (Agence Europe) - The Yugoslavian foreign affairs minister, Goran Slivanovic, presented the Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Walter Schwimmer, on Thursday with the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia's official application to join the pan-European organisation. The FRY Parliament has also requested to become a special observer to the European Parliament. Mr Schwimmer announced that the Council of Europe would be opening an office in Belgrade.
