The British travel agents THOMAS COOK (£1.8 bn turnover in 1999) has sold its financial services division to TRAVELEX (pre-tax profit of £22 million expected for 2000, with 1,800 employees) for £440 million. This divisi0on represents an annual turnover of £321.2 million.
