Alcoa takeover of British Aluminium approved

Brussels, 30/10/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has approved the takeover of the British firm British Aluminium Ltd, 100% subsidiary of Luxfer Holdings Plc, by the American aluminium producer Alcoa Inc.. The transaction will have repercussions on the European market regarding finished and semi-finished aluminium products (flat rolled, extrusions, foils) and certain local aluminium distribution activities in the United Kingdom and Ireland.
